INTRODUCING THE NEW COOLPIX A100 AND A10: TAKING QUALITY IMAGES WITH SIMPLICITY AND STYLE
London, UK, 14th January 2016: Nikon’s COOLPIX range of compact cameras has two new additions designed with simplicity in mind – the 20.1-megapixel COOLPIX A100, a carry-anywhere camera with a slender and stylish design, and the 16.1-megapixel COOLPIX A10, featuring an easy-hold grip and simple-to-operate button layout to make taking great photos fun.
Weighing approximately 119 g including battery and SD card, the COOLPIX A100 is so light it can barely be felt in a pocket or bag, yet packs a host of features to make shooting simple. Not only does the 5x optical zoom NIKKOR lens (extendable to 10x Dynamic Fine Zoom1) take beautiful close-ups of family and friends, but Special effects and Quick effects can also be added for a unique look. Scene auto selector automatically selects the most appropriate mode after identifying the subject and shooting conditions. HD movies can be shot at the touch of a button, while Motion blur reduction keeps images crisp and clear.
The Target Finding AF allows the camera to predict and immediately focus on the primary subject, whether it is a human or a small object. Twelve post-shoot retouch effects in Glamour retouch can add make-up with Eye shadow, Mascara or Powder options, or hide bags under eyes. A long battery life of around 250 images or about an hour of movies keeps you shooting, and the 20.1-megapixel CCD image sensor produces high-resolution images that will make great enlargements. Available in a range of stylish colours, the Nikon COOLPIX A100 captures memorable moments the easy way.
The COOLPIX A10 was developed with ease of operation in mind. A 5x optical zoom NIKKOR lens (26-130mm equivalent in 35mm format) has the flexibility to capture both close-up facial expressions as well as wide group shots. The clear 6.7-cm/2.7-in LCD monitor makes framing shots simple, while Scene auto selector automatically selects the best scene mode for any shooting situation. It’s easy to switch from taking photos to recording HD movies with the dedicated Movie record button, and Motion blur reduction reduces camera shake for smoother videos and sharper images.
Images can be enhanced before shooting with a variety of Special effects, plus Quick effects can be added in-camera straight after shooting. Smile timer takes a shot when it recognises the subject smiling and Blink proof displays a warning message if it detects that your subject blinked. Skin softening effect comes with improved facial detection and enhanced skin tone exposure control, so portrait subjects always look flawless.
Tim Carter, Senior Product Manager, COOLPIX and Nikon 1, Nikon UK, says: “We are delighted to introduce these simple and stylish new cameras to our compact camera line-up. The COOLPIX A100 is designed to fit your lifestyle perfectly, as it’s small enough to put in your pocket or bag and captures clear images, whether spending time at home or globetrotting. The COOLPIX A10’s design ensures ease of use, the easy-to-hold grip not only highlights the superior design, but also decreases blurring caused by movement when shooting. The COOLPIX A10 is equipped with AA battery power making it easier to keep shooting when on the go, and the A100 is conveniently rechargeable.”
