Nikon School Announces New Schedule For Popular Nikon School Photography Seminars

Three Digital Photography Courses Teach the Essentials to Photography Enthusiasts at All Skill Levels

MELVILLE, N.Y., Sept. 8 /PRNewswire/—Nikon Inc. (http://www.nikonschool.com/), the world leader in photography, has released the new schedule for its popular Nikon School, one of the most comprehensive photography education and training programs in the industry. Nikon School seminars are taught throughout the country by renowned imaging experts. The three separate, one-day courses are designed to help digital photographers and business users of all skill levels better understand and improve the digital photography experience, including capturing, editing and sharing digital images. Whether the camera is simple or complex, new or old, digital or film, Nikon School has an appropriate course. The next Nikon School series will launch on October 2, 2004 in New York City, and visit more than 20 cities in the U.S. through June 2005.

The courses are taught by some of the most respected experts in the digital imaging industry including best-selling authors, Pulitzer Prize nominees, and digital entrepreneurs. Veteran professional photographers Nick Didlick, Michael A. Schwarz, Reed Hoffman, Bill Durrence, Sam Garcia, and Fred Sisson lead each session. Special guest lecturers Karen Kasmauski, John Shaw, Annie Griffiths Belt, Joe McNally, and Bob Krist have won numerous awards for work that has appeared in National Geographic, Fortune, Sports Illustrated, Newsweek, and many other publications. The Nikon School of Photography: Shooting Digital
The Nikon School of Photography is designed to provide consumers with a solid understanding of the photographic process regardless of the camera or media used. Students will learn creative camera techniques, as well as how to capture great pictures in any situation or setting. Attendees will enjoy the insights into exposure, composition, proper flash usage, and filters provided by the expert instructors. These one-day courses run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. A $119 fee includes the 8-hour course, lunch and the 162-page Nikon School of Photography Handbook.

Digital 101
Digital 101 is designed for anyone entering the exciting world of digital imaging, and teaches attendees how to get the most from their digital camera. Students will learn basic digital camera terminology, including terms like megapixels, resolution, CCD and USB, as well as the difference between optical and digital zoom and much more. Digital 101 also explores the computer side of digital, showing students how to get images from the camera to the computer and what to do with the images once they are uploaded. Students will learn how to print pictures and share images through e-mail or posting on a website. Digital 101 is held on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. A $119 fee includes the 8-hour course, lunch, and a Nikon Guide to Digital Photography Handbook.

Digital 201: Workflow Techniques
Taught by pros who make their living shooting digital, Digital 201: Workflow Techniques offers a clear, concise presentation on the rapidly changing world of digital photography, from emerging imaging techniques to the intricacies of the digital workflow - all designed to help produce better images more efficiently. Through the program, students will learn how to shoot, archive, manage color, and monitor calibration and white-balance efficiently. Digital 201: Workflow Techniques is held on Sundays for a course fee of $159. Classes run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
