Nikon seem to have ended a recent downward financial turn, as they have announced a tripling of profits for the first half of the current fiscal year.

“Demand for liquid-crystal displays, especially in Asia, is fueling higher sales of equipment to make the chips that drive the devices. Digital cameras such as the company’s D70, which features detachable lenses, also helped boost profit, the company said.”
