Nikon scoops yet again two top EISA awards

“…A dream come true for those who constantly seek the best of the best”

Amsterdam, 15 August. Nikon has taken two top honours at the prestigious EISA 2005-2006 Best Product Awards, with the Nikon F6 hailed as European Analogue Camera of the year and the Nikon D2X as European Professional Camera of the year.

With this year’s European Imaging and Sound Awards (EISA) Nikon’s professional history – 45 years and 35 million Nikkor lenses to date – has now been acclaimed once more and demonstrates why Nikon products are chosen by professional photographers all over the world for their quality, flexibility and rugged performance.

Robert Cristina, Product Manager Professional Camera Systems at Nikon Europe, said: “Whether working with digital or analogue, photographers know that each single-digit Nikon camera offers a significant advancement from its predecessor, something that can actually contribute to taking their career forward.”

He added: “With groundbreaking technologies to maximize creativity and productivity, the award winning D2X and F6 provide compelling solutions to keep photographers ahead of the game.”

In their citation, the EISA Awards judges praised the Nikon F6 as “a fitting tribute to 35mm as the great era of analogue photography draws to a close. Its great handling, fast 11-area auto focus, extremely accurate metering and advanced flash photography demonstrate, once again, Nikon’s devotion to professional photography.”

The EISA 2005-2006 judges were equally enthusiastic in their reasons for awarding the Nikon D2X the accolade of European Professional camera of the year: “It is hard to imagine any digital camera rivalling the extraordinary performance of Nikon’s D2X. This rugged high-end model has been designed to satisfy the most demanding professionals, and includes every function and feature imaginable.”

The judges add: “It has first-rate metering and flash exposure to complement an image resolution of 12.4 Megapixels, and an auto focus system distinguished for its accuracy and speed. Optics is first-class and the camera shoots continuously at eight frames per second. High-tech touches include a wireless data transmission capability and the ability to connect with GPS navigation systems.”

“The Nikon D2X is a dream come true for those who constantly seek the best of the best.”
