NiSi Press Release

NiSi releases complete filter kit for photographers wishing to capture balanced exposures with their smartphones.

26/3/18 - NiSi, the innovative filter manufacturer, has announced the launch of its P1 Prosories kit - a complete filter system designed exclusively for use with smartphones. Each kit comprises of 1 x holder, 1 x polariser filter, 1x medium graduated ND filter, 1 x clip and comes with a soft pouch to help transport the system safely and without fuss.

Available to pre-order online now, the P1 system carries a suggested retail price of $39.99 and is the most complete and professional system of its kind, allowing smartphone photographers the ability to take their imagery to the next level by reducing glare and reflections when using the polariser, or balancing high-contrast lighting scenes - such as landscapes captured during the golden hour - with the medium graduated ND filter.

The small and portable P1 filters are made with the same high-quality optical glass as NiSi’s larger filter systems and feature nano coating to reduce ghosting and flare.

The P1 system is compatible with virtually all of today’s smartphones, including Apple and Samsung devices and is easy to set up and use. Photographers simply install the filter holder by pairing it with the clip via a screw thread, positioning the holder over the smartphone’s camera and then slotting in the filter.

Results can be further refined once your composition is set by rotating the filter holder to change the area of the frame you wish the ND grad filter to cover and it’s even possible to use two filters at the same time for further creative effects. Along with helping photographers improve their stills photography, the P1 system will also be of use to videographers using smartphones to capture movies as their footage will benefit from the exposure-balancing attributes of the filters, too.

The appeal for the P1 system is undeniable as smartphone photography increases in popularity – after all, 50% of all images uploaded to popular photo sharing website Flickr in 2017 were taken with smartphones! The P1 system will also appeal to photographers who want to capture high-quality images when travelling and don’t have the luxury of space for a DSLR-style camera and its accessories.
