Nokia UK has launched a search for photos taken with its Nokia N8 camera phone for a national billboard advertising campaign. The Nokia N8 billboard competition opened yesterday and runs for four weeks, closing on 7th April. UK residents can enter the competition by visiting Nokia’s Facebook page. The winner will get their image blown up to the size of a huge 96 sheet, billboard advert and displayed near their home.

Groundbreaking Nokia N8 advertising campaign searches for the public’s photographs

Nokia has launched a search for the nation’s amazing shots taken on its Nokia N8 smartphone 12 MP camera for a groundbreaking campaign where aspiring photographers can get their images featured in a national billboard advertising campaign.

It’s the first time images taken on a mobile phone camera have been blown up to this scale for use on outdoor advertising billboards.

Whether you want to share your perfect view, show somebody how much you love them or have taken a spontaneous digital picture that needs to be seen, one winner will get their image blown up to the size of a huge 96 sheet, billboard advert and displayed near their home.

Showcasing the image quality of the Nokia N8’s digital camera, the current advertisement campaign features a series of images taken on the smartphone, including shots by blind photographer Gary Waite, the star of Nokia’s TV latest advert. Keen photographers have the chance to be the next star in the campaign.

The Nokia N8 billboard competition opens on the 10th March and runs for four weeks, closing on the 7th of April and people can enter the competition by visiting facebook.com/nokia.uk.
