NuCore Wins 21st PC Magazine Technical Excellence Award For Digital Imaging
NuCORE CleanCapture™ and InfiniteBurst™ image processors win prestigious award
Sunnyvale,CA – February 2, 2005— NuCORE Technology’s CleanCapture image processor family has been selected as the 2005 PC Magazine Technical Excellence Award winner for digital imaging. This award is given to the most pioneering and innovative products as reviewed by the PC Magazine editorial staff during the year. NuCORE’s Clean Capture image processors were chosen from the hundreds of digital imaging products seen by the editors. NuCORE’s innovative image processors for both digital video and still photography have set new expectations for image quality and performance. The hardwired processors produce superior images with greatly improved performance by reducing the noise and digital artifacts common in digital cameras. A cleaner, sharper image, while simultaneously reducing the image file size is the result.
A new groundbreaking feature, InfiniteBurst, allows for unlimited shots at over three frames per second until the memory card is full. This is the first image processor offered to camera makers capable of such a feat.
“InfiniteBurst changes the way you take digital pictures. You no longer are plagued with the lag and stalls typical of nearly all digital cameras”, said Gary Baum Sr. VP of Marketing, “Now, you will not miss out capturing the action of your son’s slide into home or that tremendous catch at the football game. You simply take a burst sequence and capture the moment.”
CleanCapture image processors are the image processor building blocks used by a variety of digital video, hybrid and still camera makers. NuCORE technology is found at the heart of many video and still cameras from multiple manufacturers but the image processor brand is “owned” by the specific camera maker.
“Our customers build upon the silicon and software technology that we provide, but they also add a great amount of value in “tuning” a camera with their unique color science and their proprietary, value-add features,” Baum added. “Our strategy is to enable our OEMs to use NuCORE Technology products while maintaining their own unique branding for their distinct camera product lines.”
