Olympus PEN and TOUGH flagships win EISA awards PEN E-P5 and TOUGH TG-2 are best-in-class

London, 15 August 2013 – The European Imaging & Sound Association (EISA) has recognised two key Olympus products with leading awards. The retro-inspired PEN E-P5 won the European Advanced Compact System Camera 2013-2014 while the TOUGH TG-2 took the accolades in the European Travel Camera category

PEN E-P5 is best Advanced Compact System Camera

The PEN-F inspired E-P5 impressed the EISA jury with outstanding features that deliver the pro-standard imaging excellence of D-SLRs: "The camera's top shutter speed of 1/8000sec is one of the shortest for a compact system model, while the 5-axis image-stabilisation is unique in this category." The jury also praised the 100 to 25,600 ISO range, built-in WiFi as well as the creative shooting modes and art filters.

TOUGH TG-2 is best Travel Camera

The shockproof, crushproof, freezeproof and waterproof TOUGH TG-2 won over the jurors with its super-bright 1:2.0 4x zoom lens, which delivers high quality in low light and spectacular depth-of-field effects. "The high-speed autofocus system makes this camera a solid choice for outdoor action photography," the jury added. "In Super Macro mode, the minimum focus distance is only 1 cm, while the camera's built-in GPS allows you to record exactly where a picture was taken and then place the locations on a map."
