Hamburg, 09/19/2016 • M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 30mm 1:3.5 Macro prime lens sets new standards for magnification and focus distance – The macro category for compact system cameras has its new benchmark prime lens: the lightweight M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 30mm 1:3.5 Macro, which boasts the most powerful* magnification (2.5x**) as well as a closest focusing distance of just 9.5cm. At this distance, ambitious hobby photographers can expand their creative repertoire to include fascinating details of the natural world that would otherwise be invisible to the naked eye. The new M.ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 30mm 1:3.5 Macro lens slots into Olympus’ Premium range between two super-bright stablemates: the 25mm 1:1.8 standard lens and the 45mm 1:1.8, which is designed for portrait photography. Remarkably, its optical performance matches both. It delivers beautiful, circular bokeh with virtually none of the distortion that affects lesser lenses in the 1:3.5 macro category. Reproduction of this quality is rare at extreme magnifications, especially in a fast-focussing, compact macro lens. An added bonus is compatibility with the Focus Bracketing feature on selected Olympus cameras, which automatically captures several versions of one macro with different focus settings, so you can choose the best.
