Olympus' Profits Fall Sharply

Olympus are the latest digital camera manufacturer to announce falling profits and a cut in its predicted sales the 2004/5 financial year. Olympus’ profits fell 62 percent, despite an increase in sales of 21%, as digital camera prices slumped and operating costs increased. This news follows similar announcements from Sony and Sanyo last week. Only Canon have announced a positive prediction for the future.
