CITY Announces Official Prizes and Extended Deadline

New York – July 23, 2007 – CITY Magazine is announcing the official prizes for the grand-prize winner and fifteen runners-up for ONE CITY, MANY DESTINATIONS™, a travel photography competition for amateur and professional photographers from around the world. Photographers are asked to pick one image that best captures the essence of a city for submission in CITY’s Fall ’07 Travel issue.

CITY: The Destination for Style (www.city-magazine.com) is a lifestyle publication hailed internationally for its cutting-edge photography and editorial coverage. 

A jury of six internationally renowned photography and travel aficionados will pick one winning image to appear on the cover of CITY’s Fall ’07 Travel issue! The grand-prize winner will receive the ultimate grand prize: CITY Magazine’s cover shot, along with a fabulous prize package including: the desirable Leica M8 professional camera with a Leica Elmarit 28mm f2.8 lens; a three-night, four-day stay at any chic W Hotel in North America; two round-trip Continental Airlines tickets between the city where the winner’s selected W Hotel is located and the closest airport to the winner’s home serviced by Continental Airlines; and a $500 gift certificate to Calumet Photographic. 

The creations of sixteen finalists, including the grand-prize winner, will appear in a special travel photography portfolio inside CITY’s Fall ’07 Travel issue, on sale September 25, 2007. Fifteen runners-up will receive a Leica C-LUX 2 compact camera to honor their magnificent images submitted for the contest.

DEADLINE EXTENDED: Due to overwhelming demand, the deadline for submissions for the ONE CITY, MANY DESTINATIONS™ competition has been extended until 11:59 p.m. EST on JULY 31, 2007. Finalists will be selected by August 20, 2007 and notified soon thereafter.
