The Online Photographer Press Release

The Online Photographer (T.O.P.) is one year old today. T.O.P. is a photography news and opinion website in blog format that is updated daily. To celebrate, T.O.P. is today posting its (first annual?) TEN BEST LIVING PHOTOGRAPHERS list. There’s also an interview with proprietor and principal author Mike Johnston about T.O.P. today on The Luminous Landscape

A few stats: There have been 849 posts since last November 28th, for an average of a little over 2.3 a day. As of yesterday, T.O.P. has attracted 2,218,890 page views from all over the world. The most popular post (far and away) was “Great Photographers on the Internet.” Two days after that was posted, the site set its 24-hour record for hits at 26,537. More than 125,000 people have viewed that page so far. Another popular post was the “Sam Memorial Dog Camera Award,” about the World’s Ugliest Camera.

Thirty-six different photographers have contributed at least one post.
