The Lomography Gallery Store LA has announced a range of events revolving about the upcoming Oscar night. First up, they’ve got a competition - fill out an Oscar ballot, and if you pick the most winners, you can take home a free Oktomat. This is Lomography’s version of an analogue mini-movie camera, and the Lomography Store is organising a free workshop on how to turn your multi-lens photos into mini-movies. Also, with every purchase you make on 7 March 2010, you receive a free Lomography Camera Keychain. On the same day, they are organising a live telecast and an Oscar afterparty featuring drinks, a Lomo presentation and the announcement of the competition winners. Workshops
The Oktomat is Lomography’s version of an analogue mini-movie camera, and along with the Supersampler and Actionsampler, Lomographers have been using these cameras to make mini-movies for years! So come in at 1:00pm for a workshop on how to turn your multi-lens photos into mini-movies! Then hit the streets with a loaner camera and yell “action!” before capturing your own masterpiece! This workshop is FREE!

Later in the evening during our afterparty, we’ll be showing a presentation of one of the most incredible Lomography films ever made… the astounding, tour-de-force, Lomo Matrix by Chaweemek. And afterward, if you’re up for it, we’ll make an attempt at a sequel right in the store… the Diana F+ Colorsplash Matrix! Don’t just be an extra, bring your own camera or borrow one of ours for a big part in the movie!

Oscars Live Telecast
The new Lomography Gallery Store LA is loaded with lounges and tables for group gatherings and meet-ups. So on March 7th, why not bring your friends by to watch the Oscars right in the store with us? We’ll be serving drinks, and you can watch all your winning picks pan out and see if you go home with your own trophy, the Oktomat!
