Panasonic and Rankin Film Productions (RFP) have released the first “GH3-minute movie,” entitled Hertz. Three weeks ago, we wrote that Panasonic had partnered with RFP to produce three 3-minute films using three Lumix GH3 cameras. The partnership represents a unique way of promoting the camera and aims to further demonstrate the credentials and benefits a CSC has for “harnessing the creative visions of up-and-coming talent,” Panasonic says. Panasonic partners with Rankin Film Productions for Lumix GH3 campaign:
‘GH3-MINUTE MOVIES’

Panasonic is pleased to announce a partnership agreement with the Rankin Film Productions (RFP) and its award winning DMC-GH3 interchangeable lens camera.  As part of the collaboration, Panasonic is providing RFP with 3 x DMC-GH3 cameras and an array of lenses for them to produce 3 x 3 minute films.  Aptly named ‘GH3-Minute Movies’, this campaign will showcase the GH3’s professional videography capabilities in a real setting.

The new Lumix GH3 represents a significant step forward in challenging the conventional DSLR category appealing more to filmmakers. With its free-angle OLED monitor, professional timecode capability and broadcast-standard 1080 50p Full HD recording capability, the GH3 is fully prepared to handle all of RFP’s videography needs.

Panasonic Lumix G product manager Barnaby Sykes commented: “We are excited about the prospect of what our latest Lumix GH3 can offer to creative filmmakers and wanted to find the right partner to help explore those possibilities. As soon as we met RFP’s roster of young director talent we knew we’d found the right team to put it to the test.”

The partnership represents a unique way of promoting the camera and aims to further demonstrate the credentials and benefits a DSLM has for harnessing the creative visions of up-and-coming talent.

Rankin Film Productions Executive Producer Nina Rassaby-Lewis added: “The Lumix GH3 was an interesting proposition for us and we were keen to see exactly what it could do working with some our most progressive and creative filmmaker talent. We’re excited by the prospect of the resulting films.”

Directors David Allain, Vicky Lawton, and Charlie&Joe are all producing their films through RFP shot exclusively on the Lumix GH3 and its extensive range of prime and range lenses.
The films will all be tonally distinctive and look to push the camera’s capabilities to the max.

The ‘GH3-Minute Films’ will be released at the end of March and will be showcased across Panasonic’s digital and social platforms as well as selected specialist press titles. RFP will also share the project and its development across a number of their platforms including HungerTV.  View the short films from 28th March at http://www.panasonic.co.uk/gh3
