Pentax Optio M60Hoya, owner of Pentax, is to move production of its digital cameras from Japan to Vietnam and the Philippines. According to the Bloomberg report, output will be moved by March 31st 2009, with 250 workers in Japan being offered early retirement. The relocation will cost Hoya several million Yen. No distinction has been made between compacts and DSLRs, so we’re unsure if this affects both categories.
