Pentax K-x Firmware 1.01

Pentax have released a firmware update for the Pentax K-x DSLR camera. Version 1.01 adds three kinds of particular effect shooting function to the cross processing feature offered by the camera, allows the user to assign cross processing to the green button, and improves the accuracy of the battery level indicator under specific conditions. PENTAX K-x Firmware Update Software Version 1.01
PENTAX would like to announce the release of the K-x firmware update software Version 1.01.
The software changes are as outlined below;
* The addition of three effect shooting functions
* The addition of a Cross Processing function support to the green button
* Improved accuracy of the Battery Level Indicator with improved stability for general performance
Please ensure that you follow the installation instructions precisely to avoid the disappointment of a broken camera. Unfortunately, we will be unable to provide a replacement camera should this happen.
Instructions to download
1. Charge the camera battery fully.
2. Go to the link: http://drop-box.co.uk/
3. Logon with username: PentaxClient; password: PentaxClient
4. Download updated firmware file as below;
For Windows : Kx_e101w.exe—- ?,xxx kbytes, LHA type, self-extracting files
For Macintosh : kx_e101m.zip—- x,xxx Kbytes, zip type
5. Extract downloaded file – The following two files will be generated once the downloaded file is extracted by double-clicking;
Readme.txt: The text file that explains the update procedure in detail
Fwdc206b.bin: This is the updated firmware
6. Copy fwdc206b.bin file to SD card (32 MB or more)
7. Please now refer to the readme.txt file attached to the firmware before updating
8. Once complete, delete the firmware file from the SD card via a PC to avoid potential damage to other devices.
9. Delete firmware files from PC.
