Upgraded Photo Management Suites Offers Unrivaled Feature Set

Cologne, Germany - September 28, 2004 PhoTags, Inc.,developer of the revolutionary Active Captions photo messaging and management technology will be unveil the latest upgrade of its innovative software at the Photokina World of Imaging Exhibition in Cologne, Germany. Version 3.0 provides consumers with everything expected from a state of the art Digital Photography Software Suite including, acquiring photos from any source, manage and organize photos quickly and easily, the ability to edit and enhance them and share them. The new “Workshop” section features the ability to create Photo Albums that can be viewed, printed or burnt onto a CD for use on PCS and DVD players, and sent to others. The Photo Calendar generator allows users to select an unlimited number of months and years for print out. The Greeting Card and Post Card Creator applications are the only application to use both sides of a 6X4 inch photo card. Post Cards can even be mailed without an envelope. PhoTags 3.0 even allows you to launch any external editing software directly from the application and then returns you back to Photags when you are done.

Unlike conventional Digital Photo Management systems that require proprietary databases to keep track of the photos by associating the photos with a variety of metadata sorted in the database, PhoTags 3.0 is Active Captions? enabled. This means that users can insert captions, shapes, frames, borders, keywords, photographer and categories IN the JPEG photo itself.  This means that the information goes where the photo goes.  The stored metadata, as well as selective EXIF data that are also stored in the photo, can be searched directly from Windows at any time.

Active Captions? enabled photos also allow users to have text captions, shapes, Clip art, frames and borders appear on the photo in any font, color or size, without altering the photo in any way. This ?virtual layer? is part of PhoTags? patented technology, allowing users to view, hide, edit and print photos with or without one or more of the elements at any time. No special software is needed to view photos enhanced by Photags as each photo is stored as a JPEG and can be viewed by any device or application that can view standard JPEG photos. 

PhoTags Inc. is also launching a free ACTIVE CAPTIONS? ENABLER application for both PC and MAC, downloadable from the net, that will allow anyone to search, view and print Active Captions? enabled photos with or without the captions visible.. With PhoTags 3.0 digital photographs will finally able to be truly shared freely and easily with anyone anywhere. 

PhoTags 3.0 features a very powerful batch processor that quickly adds captions, keywords, categories and comments to a series of photos in a matter of seconds.
