PHOTO ICONIC COURSES AT JACOBS PUT PHOTO SKILLS IN FOCUS

Photo Iconic has teamed up with Jacobs Digital Photo & Video to run a series of photo courses in the Pro Lounge at Jacobs’ New Oxford Street store, London. Whether you have a morning to spare for a short-sharp image workshop, or can dedicate two days to really honing your skills, there’s something to suit, with tuition from an award-winning photographer, Chris Coe.

The founder of the international Travel Photographer of the Year awards, Chris Coe has 19 years experience as a working professional photographer, shooting a range of subjects including travel, landscape, people, wildlife and architectural images. He lectures for both Adobe and Apple and has written a number of photography tuition books.

“The Pro Lounge at Jacobs is the perfect location for a photography course,” he commented.  “It’s centrally located and very well equipped. We used this facility for the Travel Photographer of the Year judging in 2008 and it was fantastic.”

Shoot, Edit, Print Friday 10th & Saturday 11th July
This intensive hands-on two-day course guides you through the whole digital imaging process, from preparing to shoot to outputting images. Day One includes a class room session on what makes a good image and how to get it, followed by location shooting around London. One Day Two participants review and edit images from Day One then look at how to refine them in Photoshop before finishing the day with another shoot so that they can put what they’ve learnt into practice.

The Perfect Travel Kit, Saturday 18th July, 11am-1.30pm
OK, so you’re off on your travels and you want to take some beautiful photographs. But what gear should you take with you? Participants will have a chance to discuss their specific issues and there’ll be a selection of equipment to look at and handle as Chris Coe takes them through the pros and cons of different gear to show them how put together the perfect kit .
Course fee: £40. Shooting Travel Images That Sell, Saturday 19th September, 11am-1.30pm
What makes a great image and what should you think about when you’re travelling to get images that will sell? What should you shoot? How should you shoot it? How do you choose the best ones and what should you do to try to sell them? Get an insight into how a professional photographer shoots travel, the best equipment to use and how to get the best images - and get feedback on one of your own images.
