Camera Bits, Inc. Updates Photo Mechanic™ with Series of Enhancements for Smoother, More Intelligent Operation
Version 4.6.4 Compliments Impressive List of Features with New Support for Popular Camera Models
Portland, Oregon – June 8, 2010 – Camera Bits, Inc., a pioneer in the development of software for professional digital photographers, has unveiled a bundle of new improvements for users of its popular Photo Mechanic™ photo browser and workflow tool. Features found in version 4.6.4 of Photo Mechanic are designed to increase the speed and ease with which photographers can browse, caption and manage large digital photo collections.
Along with the popular features released in version 4.6, including Live Ingest, geo-tagging and upload templates to services like SmugMug and Flickr, version 4.6.4 offers even faster browsing and new support for RAW files captured by the popular Olympus E-P2 and E-PL1 cameras as well as Phase One models, and recognition of extended range ISO values (Lo and Hi) for Nikon cameras like the D3S. The new version also enables new advanced workflows when combining Photo Mechanic’s unique “variables” and “code replacements” features, such as the ability to split still images from movie files during ingest to aid the import of video clips into Final Cut Pro using Canon’s EOS Movie plugin-E1. Other minor bug fixes and tweaks include:
* Applying IPTC Stationery to JPEGs during Ingest on Snow Leopard Macs no longer causes slow Ingests to occur (added workaround for Apple OS X bug)
* The “Classic Exporter” template can now generate hierarchical galleries with an index page; just open a single contact sheet with multiple folders and each folder will be represented in a gallery
* A fix for properly launching photos into Photoshop CS5 on Windows
* Numerous other improvements available by clicking here
“Our customers have played a significant role in our success, and have been extremely helpful in providing feedback that enables us to further fine-tune Photo Mechanic to serve them even better,” said Dennis Walker, founder and president/CEO of Camera Bits. “We’re excited to provide them with this latest update, and look forward to continually finding new ways to enhance their experience.”
This version is available as a free update for registrations good through February 2009. To access the download, please visit http://www.camerabits.com/site/downloads.html.
