The Photography Village at The Outdoors Show 2012
The Outdoors Show in London has announced that it will be launching a brand new element within the 2012 show – a dedicated Photography Village.
Over the past ten years of The Outdoors Show, photography has consistently been rated as one of the top three key interests for visitors. The show has always included content for photography enthusiasts, with retailers and brands exhibiting and appearances from expert photographers. However, in 2012 The Outdoors Show will be taking this to a whole new level, introducing the dedicated Photography Village.
Leading photography companies
The Photography Village will include a whole range of photographic manufacturers, retailers, accessories, and specialist photography training and tour companies - offering all photographers a great day out – with something for everyone, beginners through to aspiring pro photographers.
The main stage
Every day at The Outdoors Show, visitors will have the opportunity to see a number of photography talks on The Main Stage, covering a range of popular topics including travel, wildlife and landscape photography - from some of the most well respected photographers in the world.
Geraldine Reeve, Show Manager of The Outdoors Show said: “Whether photographing landscapes, wildlife or outdoors pursuits, the coming of digital cameras and camera phones has meant that photography in the great outdoors has never been more accessible or popular. Photography has always been an important part of The Outdoors Show, and this year with the Photography Village there will be more than ever for photography enthusiasts.”
The Outdoors Show Photography Competition
In the run up to the 2012 show, The Outdoors Show is also searching for the UK’s best outdoors photographers. There are great prizes for the winners of both individual categories and the competition overall. Entrants don’t need the most expensive kit or years of experience for a chance to win. The panel of expert judges will be looking for creativity, an eye for a spectacular image and an appreciation of the qualities which make outdoors environments inspirational and unique. The competition will culminate in an exhibition of entries and prize giving at The Outdoors Show itself.
The competition will be launched on The Outdoors Show website during October, www.theoutdoorsshow.co.uk.
