Zwijndrecht, Belgium-based Galarina today introduced PhotoMeta 1.0, their a new iPad app that efficiently handles a variety of photo metadata including maker notes. The app can extract metadata from any photograph stored on your Apple iPad, including photos synced via iTunes, image files imported with the Camera Connection Kit, and even photos on the Internet, courtesy of an inbuilt Web browser. “Support for maker notes and having the possibility to extract metadata from internet photos is really interesting for a lot of photographers” said Chris Cornelis, founder and CEO of Galarina. The basic version of the app is available as a free download from the iTunes App Store, but note that an in-app purchase of $2.99 is required to uncover all metadata stored in the image files.

Galarina today introduces PhotoMeta 1.0, their a new iPad app that efficiently handles EXIF, GPS and TIFF photo metadata like you’ve never seen before on the iPad. PhotoMeta even extracts makernotes for the most popular camera brands, including Canon, Nikon, Olympus, and Sony. With the built-in web browser, metadata of internet photos is only a few taps away. Choose to either have basic metadata info displayed in a clear overview panel, or to see all metadata tags in a self-explanatory list.
Zwijndrecht, Belgium - Galarina today is pleased to announce the release of PhotoMeta 1.0, a brand new iPad app. EXIF, GPS and TIFF metadata tags of any photo are available in a wink. The pinch-and-zoom map gives an extra dimension to geotagged photos.
PhotoMeta goes the extra mile by supporting camera maker specific metadata (a.k.a. makernotes) for photos of the most popular camera brands, including Canon, Nikon, Olympus and Sony.
Any photo available on the iPad is supported:
* Photos synced via iTunes
* Photos imported with the Camera Connection Kit
* Saved photos
* Metadata can be extracted from internet photos with the built-in web browser

If possible, PhotoMeta calculates additional metadata automatically. Depth of field and hyperfocal distance are just two examples.
A photographer can choose to either have basic metadata info displayed in a clear overview panel or to see all metadata tags in a self-explanatory list.
