Pixengo for iPhone

December 11, 2012 | Zoltan Arva-Toth | Software | Comment |

Pixengo is a new iPhone app which allows users to add thoughts and emotions to still images by fusing them with thirty-second sound bites. Photographers can record their own voice, tell the story behind the photograph or describe their feelings of the moment, then share with friends and peers. You do not need the App to view ‘pixengos’: anyone can view the pixengos you send to them in a web browser, on their mobile or a computer. If you’re roaming abroad, you can create a number of pixengos on the go but opt to send them only when you’re within a Wi-Fi zone to save cash. The app is available as a free download from iTunes.

Pixengo: New iPhone App lets your photos do the talking!

An innovative new App is allowing users to add thoughts and emotions to still images by fusing them with 30 second sound bites.

Record your own voice, tell a funny story or describe your feelings of the moment – then share with the entire world, or just a few people.

This new medium brings a whole other dimension to online picture sharing. Now you can let your photos do the talking! This is Pixengo.

Using Pixengo, you can:

Add the emotion of sound to greetings you send to friends and loved ones
Tell great stories about your favourite photos
Share the full travel experience – not just the visuals
Create talking photo diaries
Bring to life the photos in your family album
Share what you’re doing in real time, with your own voice or ambient sounds
Enrich your blogs
Bring hotel or restaurant reviews to life

Fast to load and easy to use, Pixengo is FREE to download from www.itunes.co.uk (at get.pixengo.com) and compatible with the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch using iOS5 or above. Users sign in via Facebook - there are no passwords to remember or accounts to create, and don’t worry we DO NOT send you spam messages or post on your wall - you control precisely where you send your ‘pixengos’ and who sees them!

To create a new ‘pixengo’ you can use the App to capture a photo or select an existing one from your camera roll before enhancing it with Pixengo’s special creative filters and tools. You can also of course use photos created with other photo editing apps. Next, hit the record button to add up to 30 seconds of your own voice or other sounds. If you mess up you can re-record. It’s that simple.

You can share pixengos instantly via your Pixengo stream, email, Facebook or Twitter, publicly or just with recipients you select using the direct share button. If you choose to share a pixengo in the public stream other users can see the photo, click on the play button to listen to the sound clip and have the option to like or comment.

You do not need the App to view pixengos: anyone can view the pixengos you send to them in a web browser, on their mobile or a computer. The community shares its pixengos on the ‘World’ stream and you can follow other members to see their pixengos in your ‘Friends’ stream.

Pixengos are smaller than videos, typically around 400kb in size. This makes them easier to send, share and view online. If you’re roaming abroad, you can create a number of pixengos on the go but opt to send them only when you’re within a Wi-Fi zone to save cash. An Android version is in development.

Adding to its solid UK member base, Pixengo is attracting international users from an ever-growing list of countries, making it a truly global multimedia experience.
