Pixifly 2.0.0 for Instagram

May 23, 2014 | Zoltan Arva-Toth | Software | Comment |

Pixifly is an iOS app that allows users to search public Instagram photos based on time and place. Rather than searching based on keywords or hashtags, Pixifly searches by new filters: when and where the photos are posted, either by specifying the name of a place or by zeroing in on a specific location via the map view. Additionally, Pixifly just announced a new photo share feature allowing the user to make photo collages with up to four photos and share them with friends via Facebook, Twitter, text message or e-mail. Pixify 2.0.0 is available as a free download from iTunes.

NEW PIXIFLY PHOTO DISCOVERY APP GIVES USERS A “FLY ON THE WALL” PERSPECTIVE: FOR THE FIRST TIME, NAVIGATE INSTAGRAM PHOTO CONTENT BASED ON TIME AND PLACE

HOUSTON -- Pixifly, a new mobile development company, today launched the Pixifly photo discovery app for iPhone and iPad. Available on the App Store, Pixifly allows users to search Instagram’s billions of images based on time and place, solving the problem of how to find photos tied to certain events or locations and giving users a new perspective on the world.

Rather than searching based on keywords or hashtags, Pixifly searches by new filters: when and where the photos are posted, either by specifying the name of a place or by zeroing in on a specific location via the map view.

“Every day tens of millions of photos are uploaded, and no one has come up with a viable way to navigate all that content until now,” said Adam Cooper, Founder & CEO. “Pixifly aggregates these photos to your specifications, giving new perspectives on what was happening on a certain day or what is happening right now. It’s truly fascinating to see the types of photos people upload, especially when it’s those uploaded in the area around you in real-time.”
