London March 7, 2016 – Plustek, the Taiwanese photo and document scanner manufacturer, will showcase its next generation 35 mm slide, negative and photo scanners at The Photography Show which is being held at the NEC in Birmingham between March 19-22, 2016.

Two brand new models are on display: the Plustek ePhoto Z300 – a consumer focused dedicated photo scanner – and the recently announced Optic Film 135, a high performance 35 mm film and negative scanner.  Both devices are ideal for photographers wanting to digitise and preserve their value film assets quickly, easily and cost effectively.

Introducing the new Plustek ePhoto Z300 photo scanner

At the show, Plustek will launch the ePhoto z300 photo scanner. Designed using bold vibrant colours, it automatically detects photos – or indeed documents – once placed in the device and scans at up to 300 dpi.  Super easy to use with no technical know-how required, the scanner comes with soft touch rollers to prevent photos from being scratched and is designed to take photo paper from 1 inch to A4 in size and up to 0.76 mm in weight (thickness).

The ePhoto Z300 uses high quality colour CCD image sensors to scan one photo at a time with a 4 x 6 inch print taking just two seconds to digitise and an A4 document processed in 5 seconds. The recommended daily volume is 500 sheets.

Shooping Lin, Plustek’s UK sales director, says, “Of course, there are many ways you can scan photos. Yes, you could use a flatbed, MPF or smartphone, but you just don’t get the quality. Our ePhoto Z300 scanner is specifically designed for job and the bundled software makes it a breeze to quickly churn through boxes of pictures.”

The eZ300 photo scanner comes with Plustek’s ePhoto software which offers a range of colour enhancement features and effect tools such as auto white balance, auto crop and deskew, sharpen, anti red eye, rotation and, for scanning documents, punch hole removal.

Showcasing the Optic Film 135 film and negative scanner

Launched in early February 2016, Plustek is also demonstrating the new Optic Film 135 negative and film scanner - the latest in its award winning Optic Film series.  Featuring a new motorised film holder to enable easy batch scanning, the Optic Film 135 takes up four 35mm slides or six film negatives to speed up processing.

The Optic Film 135 has been designed with simple ease of use in mind and one touch scanning simplifies everything.  Three single touch buttons are available for convenient film scanning.  Press and scan.  There’s nothing to it.

The scanner is bundled with Plustek’s latest QuickScan Plus software which converts positive and negative film into popular digital file formats such as TIFF, JPEG and BMP.  The intuitive user interface simplifies scanning and includes special image editing features to enhance scanning results.  This includes five creative picture effects and a series of photo adjusting tools to enable images to be cropped, sharpened, rotated and so on.

The new version of the software also means no preview scan is required saving up to 40% time spent scanning. Once scanning is complete, images are quickly presented in QuickScan Plus for processing, editing and saving.

Plustek is now offering the ability to scan panoramic film negatives – up to 120mm across - with the purchase of an additional film holder accessory.
