PortraitProfessional 4: The Best Kept Secret in Photography

Anthropics Technology today reported that since the release of the new and enhanced version of their software PortraitProfessional 4, large numbers of photographers across the globe have started to use it to automatically touch up many 1000s of photos each day.

So if so many professional photographers are now becoming heavy users of PortraitProfessional, why has nobody heard it?

The answer seems to be that photographers are simply not telling each other about the software. Many seem to be using PortraitProfessional as a ‘secret weapon’ against their competitors in what is a very competitive marketplace.

The reason this ‘weapon’ has such a dramatic impact is that it allows touchup which would take hours of work by a skilled user in a traditional editing package to be done in around 2 minutes by someone who has only spent a few hours learning PortraitProfessional.  Even someone who has never used it before can dramatically improve a photo in less than ten minutes.

So how did this happen?

It seems that with version 4, PortraitProfessional has hit a tipping point and become a tool which photographers now find truly useful.

While the initial version of PortraitProfessional was clever, fast and required no specialist skills to use, it was a bit of a ‘one trick pony’. Crucially it lacked the aesthetic control and subtlety that many photographers wanted. True, it could automatically re-sculpt faces, remove wrinkles and smooth skin, but it was an all or nothing affair, giving the user little control and blitzing all defects to give a rather airbrushed look.

However, the new software has two things that make it vastly more useful for serious photographers.

Firstly PortraitProfessional 4 gives the user individual control over all the separate facial features. Now for example the nose, the jaw line or the eyes can be individually and subtly beautified by simply moving sliders.

This means that the photographer can be far more subtle about the face enhancements that he or she can give the subject – for instance just thickening a model’s upper lip to balance her mouth shape.

Secondly the skin enhancement is vastly improved and now completely state of the art. Subtle skin textures can be completely preserved while fine lines and wrinkles can be reduced or completely eliminated. It is now possible to get really natural enhancements to skin just by moving a few sliders – this was simply not possible before.

The result is simply rather magical. Once you know the software, and it is easy to learn, it really is possible to enhance portrait photographs to a high professional standard very fast and in an intuitive way that simply has not been possible before.

Anyway, it is definitely worth checking out this new ‘intelligent; touch up software, which is available for free trial download at www.portraitprofessional.com

The latest version, PortraitProfessional 4 has just been released and is currently on offer at $39.95. Definitely worth a look.
