Princess Cruises Extends Deadline for UK's Biggest Travel Awards
Princess Cruises Press Release 20/09/04
Princess Cruises has today announced that it will extend the deadline for their Escapes Photography Awards due to the volume of interest being shown by professional and amateur photographers.
The deadline has been extended to 1 October.
Pieter van der Schee, head of brand marketing, Princess Cruises says, “We’ve had thousands of high quality entries already but given the stature of the awards we want to make sure as many people as possible are given time to enter.”
With a prize of ?10,000 for the winning professional entry and luxury Princess cruises for the winning amateur entries, interest in the competition has gone from strength to strength, leaving the illustrious judging panel with some very hard decisions.
Photographs can still be entered in one of 5 categories - Land-scapes, Sea-scapes, City-scapes, Sport-scapes, a new category for 2004 which will capitalise on the wealth of exciting sporting events that have been taking place around the world this year, and the highly popular ?E-scapes? which allows photographers to capture the emotion of travelling as opposed to the destination itself.
Mr van der Schee continues: “The Princess Cruises Escapes Travel Photography Awards offers the biggest travel photography prizes in the industry. We are very proud of the judging panel who have enthusiastically given their support, as it is made up of some of the most eminent travel and photography experts, including the picture editor of the Press Association and the editor of Total Digital Photography. I think that a panel of this stature truly acknowledges the growing importance of these awards and are worthy to judge pictures of the quality we have received.”
