The organisers of the British Beer & Pub Association’s Pub Life photography competition are reminding interested photographers that the submission deadline is 6th May. Pub Life invites Britons to capture their favourite scenes from their local pub under six categories for the chance to win a camera from Olympus and a prestigious spot in the exclusive Pub Life Photography Exhibition. Each category winner will receive an Olympus E-PL2 single-lens kit; while six runners-up will win Olympus XZ-1 cameras. The overall winner will be awarded an Olympus E-PL2 double-lens kit as well as a host of photography accessories. To enter send images to [email protected] by midnight Friday 6th May.

Entries are coming in thick and fast for the British Beer & Pub Association’s Pub Life Photography Competition. Organisers have pushed back the entry closing date to 6th May due to an overwhelming demand by pub goers wishing to capture Royal Wedding Celebrations taking place at local pubs throughout the UK this bank holiday weekend. Six categories still remain, ranging from the Pub Life category which will include the Royal festivities through to The Sun’s Beautiful Game category and Shortlist Magazine’s Pints & Pistachios Strange But True category. Pub Life is set to mark one of the country’s largest national celebrations as well as saving the Local Pub. Pub Life competition and exhibition will culminate in a phenomenal exhibition in one of trendy East London’s top galleries in The Old Truman Brewery. Offering anybody the chance to be exhibited, contestants stand the chance to win hundreds of pounds of professional photography equipment courtesy of Olympus.

Pub Life invites members of the public, whether they are a professional photographer or not, to capture their favourite scenes from their local pub under six categories for the chance to win a camera from Olympus and a prestigious spot in the exclusive Pub Life Photography Exhibition. All six winners will receive an Olympus E-PL2 Single Kit Lens Camera; six runners up will also win an Olympus XZ-1 camera. Categories

Budding photographers both professional, amateur and pub locals will be invited to submit images to be judged through the six different categories. From this British Beer & Pub Association and The Sun will nominate a shortlist of entries who will then be invited to exhibit in a top London gallery for Pub Life. The exhibition will be from 16th – 23rd May 2011 in a gallery within The Old Truman Brewery.

The six categories are:
• Pub Life: Representative of the local pub and celebrations over the Royal Bank Holiday Weekend
• The Sun’s The Beautiful Game: An image that depicts sportsmanship within the local pub
• Strange But True: An image that portrays the bizarre nature of the local pub
• The Regulars: This could be a Landlord, or regular figure or feature of your local pub • Pub With A View: An incredible landscape outside or through a fireside window • Lazy Sunday: The quintessential English social activity; spent with great friends and a roast dinner
