The Reflecta x7-Scan is a standalone device that enables users to quickly digitise their 35mm slides as well as 110 and 125 format films. Rather than scanning the film frames, the Reflecta x7 uses a 14-megapixel area-array sensor for the digitisation, which promises to deliver similar results to a conventional 3200ppi film scanner. This solution allows the Reflecta x7 to produce a digital image in just 2 seconds. The new addition to the Reflecta range features a 2.4" LCD screen, comes with an integrated SD-SDHC card slot, and boasts a battery operating time of 2.5 hours. The device comes supplied with film holders for three mounted slides, film strips up to six exposures, 110mm film strips up to eight exposures and 126mm (instamatic) film for up to seven exposures. The x7 Film Scanner from Reflecta is available now with a suggested retail price of £136.80.

Reflecta launches 14 megapixel, two second scanner for film users

Kenro has announced the launch of the x7 Film Scanner, capable of producing 14 megapixel images at 3200dpi in just two seconds, to be added to Reflecta's cutting-edge range of digitization products.

Using the scanner, traditional film shooters can create a digital darkroom of their treasured images in pristine detail which can then be used to email and publish on-line.

The new addition to the Reflecta range features a 2.4 inch LCD display and a brightness correction feature located on the top of the scanner. The scanner can produce up to 2,000 scans within its 2.5 hour battery operating time and can also connect to a television.

One of the key benefits of the Reflecta x7 scanner is its compact size. Measuring in at 105x104x164mm, it is ideal the photographer who has a busy work area and looking to save space. Its light-weight and portable design makes it easily transportable, perfect for professional photographers who are always on the go.

For added convenience, the scanner comes with an integrated SD-SDHC card slot and a lithium-Ion battery which allows the scanner to be completely independent from the PC or power supply. Scans can be stored directly onto the media card via the card slot and then transferred with the card or by using the dedicated USB port to review on a PC or Mac.

The scanner comes supplied with film holders for three framed mounted up to 3.2mm thick, film strips up to six exposures, 110mm film strips up to eight exposures and 126mm (instamatic) film for up to seven exposures.

The pack also comes with a USB cable, an AC Adapter, a Lithium-Ion battery, a TV-Out cable, a manual, a cleaning brush, and image editing software, ArcSoft MediaImpression.

"The x7 film scanner from Reflecta is set to revolutionise the way film users digitise their images," says Kenro Managing Director, Paul Kench. "Power combined with extreme speed and robust build makes this the perfect choice for photographers who are looking to add a touch of convenience to their busy lifestyle."

Other products in the Reflecta range include digital microscopes, endoscopes, video and studio lights, USB record players plus its renowned selection of slide projectors.
