Version 3.0 of Optipix adds several exciting new tools to our comprehensive package for professional digital photographers. Interactive Interpolation is the most sophisticated tool now available for enlarging digital images, allowing you to adjust how your interpolation is performed in an interactive preview. Optipix’s new Refocus tool is a powerful blur remover suitable for correcting focus problems and blurring due to processing. Optipix 3.0 also adds JPEG Cleaner, a one-step tool for removing the unsightly artefacts from JPEG images, Grain Maker, and many improvements to the plug-ins from earlier versions, including support for Photoshop’s Lab Color.

Interactive Interpolation and Refocus are the big news for Optipix 3. Both of these plug-ins solve common problems that digital artists often face. Our Interactive Interpolation plug-in provides significantly better results than the most popular methods in use currently. The Refocus plug-in is a state-of-the-art blur removal technique, powerful enough to remove the softness in your image that is introduced by the camera’s chip, but savvy enough to not oversharpen detail. Refocus will also correct for out-of-focus optics, and includes a noise rejection technique. If you’ve ever wondered why your digital images looked too soft, Refocus is the solution to your problem.

Optipix 3.0 is available immediately from the Reindeer Graphics online store. The retail price of Optipix is US$149.95. Users with a valid Optipix 2 serial number can upgrade to Optipix 3 for US$75.00. Users who purchased Optipix 2 after June 10, 2004, will receive Optipix 3.0 as a free update.
