Ricoh have released a new firmware update, v1.24, for the Ricoh Caplio R3, a 5 megapixel compact camera with a 7x optical zoom lens equivalent to 28-200mm and vibration correction of the CCD.

- Improved accuracy of the spot AF algorithm.
- Corrected the error that an user comment recorded in the Exif information may change into garbled characters with some software programs.
