The Rollei Powerflex 240 HD is a compact superzoom camera with a 16-megapixel sensor and 24x optical zoom. Featuring a 25-600mm equivalent f/3.0-6.9 lens with optical image stabilisation, the Rolle Powerflex 240 HD comes equipped with a 1/2.3” CCD made by Sony. In addition to capturing high-resolution stills, the camera can also record high-definition video clips at a resolution of 1280x720 pixels and 30fps. The Rollei Powerflex 240 HD will go on sale in mid-January at a recommended retail price of $149.95.

The new superzoom camera from Rollei: The Powerflex 240 HD!

Hamburg, 3 January 2013 – Rollei adds another digital camera with HD resolution to its Powerflex range just in time for the new year. The Rollei Powerflex 240 HD is a compact superzoom camera for all photography enthusiasts who want to be equipped with focal length technology for all situations and at the same time do not want to sacrifice HD quality video recordings.

As well as the wide focal length range, the Rollei Powerflex 240 HD also has an impressive 3-inch display and outstanding resolution of 460,000 pixels. The high-speed lens (F = 1:3.0 ~ 6.9) guarantees detailed images. The manual or automatic adjustment of the shutter speed, the adjustable white balance, 40 shooting modes incl. night mode and fisheye, voice recording and voice memo in photo, as well as the ease of use and the very clear menu make operating the Rollei Powerflex 240 HD very simple.

Although the Powerflex 240 HD is only approx. 4 cm thick, a 24x optical zoom fits into its housing – with a huge focal length range of 25 to 600 mm. It also has a resolution of 16 Megapixels and a SONY 1/2.3” CCD sensor. An optical image stabiliser guarantees no camera shake and the super-macro mode boasts an impressive 2-cm close-range limit.

As well as taking photos, the Powerflex 240 HD also records videos in HD (1280 x 720 pixels, 30 fps) with sound as it has an integrated speaker and microphone. A fully charged Li-ion battery gives up to 29 minutes of recording time. The camera can be quickly charged via USB (Mini USB 5 PIN, USB 2.0 Full Speed); the Apple USB charging adapter (5V/500 mA) is supported.
