Rollei has announced the addition of three new 14-megapixel models to its Powerflex series. These include the Rollei Powerflex 470 (€199.90 including a camera pouch and a 4GB memory card, pictured) boasting a 28-196mm equivalent 7x zoom lens, HD movie recording and a 3-inch rear screen; the Rollei Powerflex 460 (€179.99 including a camera pouch and a 2GB memory card) sporting a 26-130mm equivalent 5x optical zoom and a 3-inch screen; and the Rollei Powerflex 455 (€129.90) featuring a 5x Rollei Apogon zoom lens, HD video recording and a 2.7-inch display in a package that weighs just 110g.

Leap into spring with Rollei’s complete photo kit: The new Powerflex models have arrived!

Just in time for the start of spring, Rollei is extending the product family of the already successful Powerflex series. The new models offer a great zoom range and a wide angle lens, which you would not necessarily expect from such slim, lightweight models.

Rollei Powerflex 470

One of the key models in the range is the Powerflex 470, a combination of excellent quality and first-class features ? making versatile photography a simple matter for any amateur photographer. This slim, elegant “eye-catcher” provides a great deal of creative freedom for the user: A powerful Rollei Apogon wide-angle lens with 7x optical zoom (corresponding to 28 ~ 196 mm in standard 35 mm format) brings even distant objects or groups of people right up close. Additional versatility is offered by the opportunity to record film sequences (30 frames a second) in HD quality (1280 x 720) with stereo sound. Videos can then be uploaded directly to the Internet by means of web upload. The Powerflex 470 has everything to make the photographer’s heart beat faster. Naturally this camera also has an optical image stabiliser. A large, high-resolution 3-inch display (7.62 cm, 230K pixels) delivers vibrant colours and sharp contrasts, even in bright sunlight. The stylish and sophisticated aluminium casing appeals to male and female photographers alike.

An additional “Panorama Capture” function automatically integrates individual pictures to create a beautiful panoramic image, and 25 different setting modes (e.g. night, portrait, sport, landscape) create the conditions necessary to take pictures just as the photographer sees them. With 14 million pixels and short shutter lag, there are no limits to the fun to be had with digital photography. A clear, easily comprehensible menu and the possibility of charging up the rechargeable lithium-ion battery in no time at all, either via USB or mains charger, make it very user-friendly.

This high-quality compact camera is rounded off by a special accessories package: The stylish nylon pouch protects the camera on adventurous trips and all your beautiful holiday memories can be safely stored on the 4-gigabyte memory card.

Rollei Powerflex 460

The new Powerflex 460 also has a 5x Rollei Apogon zoom lens, with a 26 mm wide-angle function. An optical image stabiliser ensures that every picture is a success, which is especially easy to see on the large 3-inch LCD colour monitor. The smart pouch which is included in the package (in black, brown or pink as appropriate) and the 2-gigabyte memory card make the camera the ideal travel companion.

Rollei Powerflex 455

The smallest of the three new Rollei models, the Powerflex 455, has no need to hide behind its two siblings. It is equipped with a high-precision 5x optical zoom, Rollei Apogon lens (corresponding to 26 mm to 130 mm in standard 35 mm format), 14 million pixels, an HD video function and a 2.7-inch colour LCD display. This “lightweight” weighs just 110 grams (without battery and memory card).

All three Powerflex models have a range of key automatic functions, such as red eye removal, blink warning, face and smile recognition, so even camera-shy individuals can be snapped quite naturally. SD/SDHC cards up to 32 GB can be used for photo-storage.

As of April 2011 all the new Powerflex models will be available for sale in the following versions.
The Powerflex 470 is available in black, silver, red and pink for a RRP of EUR 199.90, including a 4GB memory card and a camera pouch.
The Powerflex 460 is available in black, silver and pink for a RRP of EUR 179.99, including a 2GB memory card and a camera pouch.
The Powerflex 455 is offered in black, silver, red and pink, for a RRP of EUR 129.90.
