Samsung Heralds the Video Communication Age; Samsung Electronics In London to Showcase World-Leading Product Portfolio
LONDON—(BUSINESS WIRE)—Oct. 6, 2004—In the surroundings of the world famous British Museum, ‘creating the future together’ was the clear message as Samsung Electronics showcased a range of new products that will lead the ‘Video Communication Age.’
At the Global Roadshow 2004, attendees saw the breadth of Samsung’s digital offering and reviewed the company’s latest mobile handsets, digital TVs, home entertainment systems and other examples of design-led, technologically innovative products. In his speech, Mr. Jong-Yong Yun, Vice Chairman and CEO of Samsung Electronics, described the advent of the Video Communication Age and how it would bring about a fundamental change in the way people connect with each other.
Samsung’s path towards the Video Communication Age centres around five key fields - Capture, Display, Store, Process and Connection. Specifically:
Capture: Samsung’s latest mobile phones, which were introduced for the first time at the Global Roadshow 2004 and Samsung’s DuoCam, a 5.25 megapixel camera-camcorder combo;
Display: The world’s largest PDP and LCD TVs, combining brilliant, high-definition images with light, ultra-thin design;
Storage: The world’s most advanced and highest-capacity flash memory devices, along with the industry’s highest density SDRAM devices;
Process: The world’s fastest mobile CPU and DNIe chip for digital TVs;
Connection: Samsung’s groundbreaking achievements in commercialising 3G mobile communication technologies.
“Today, we herald a new era of the video communication age. We will no longer be constrained by voice or data, but will live in a converged world where voice, data and video work together to offer consumers the ultimate digital experience. At Samsung, we hope that by creating the future together, consumers will embrace the next stage in our information revolution,” said Mr. Yun.
