Samsung Digimax i6Samsung Press Release

Samsung Techwin has announced the selection of its convergence camera Digimax i6 PMP as the “Best Multimedia D-Camera” by the Technical Image Press Association (TIPA) of Europe. TIPA is an association of expert editors from 31 major camera and video related professional magazines throughout 12 European countries, and TIPA Awards are given annually to some of the world’s best products. The “MULTIMEDIA D-CAMERA” category was added this year as the convergence products gain popularity in the digital industry, and Korea’s “Digimax i6 PMP” was selected to be its very first recipient.

The TIPA awarded i6PMP is a convergence camera with MP3 and PMP functions added to a digital camera. Not only can you watch a movie on this digital camera, but you can also listen to MP3 music while taking pictures using its multimedia functions.
Additionally, the SF technology (which prevents camera shake) has been upgraded to an ASR (Advanced Shake Reduction) function to minimize camera shake even further.

As following TIPA, “The Samsung Digimax i6 is more than a digital camera; it’s a multimedia product. The Digimax i6 is only 18.5mm thick, and has an enhanced grip, using a unique curved design ensuring a steady shot when taking pictures. It has multimedia capabilities such as MP3 playback and the addition of a personal media player function. The user can even take pictures whilst listening to music. The i6 also has ASR (Advanced Shake Reduction). This unique algorithm reduces the effects of camera shake and helps the user take clear and natural pictures indoors or in dark conditions without using flash.

According to one Samsung Techwin’s insider, “i6PMP getting TIPA award gives Samsung Techwin a solid credibility in convergence digital camera category in the eyes of the world, and this ensures a favourable positioning against its competitors in the multimedia convergence product market.”
