SAMSUNG UK: SWPP & BPPA CONVENTION 2008 PREVIEW INFORMATION

Samsung UK’s display division will be exhibiting at this year’s SWPP & BPPA Convention for the first time. The company will be showcasing its entire XL range of monitors, which includes the new XL30 and XL24, and current XL20 model.

Designed for the most colour critical applications, like desktop publishing, video and photography editing and graphic design, the XL range supports professional users that demand extremely accurate colour temperature, linearly colour tracking, brightness uniformity and colour reproduction. While traditional LCD screens typically cover only 82 percent of the NTSC standard colour gamut, the XL monitors leverage a unique light emitting diode back light unit (LED BLU) to display up to 123 percent of the NTSC colour gamut.  With the LED BLU, the XL range is enabled to deliver significantly enhanced images producing a more natural range of colour, and covering the full Adobe RGB natural colour space/gamut.

The new XL30 monitor is further enhanced by a Colour Management System (CMS) that helps provide vivid and precise colour. The CMS includes colour calibration, which enables more accurate quality control, and Image Viewer, an intuitive tool that corrects colour differences between monitors and printers. Furthermore, the XL30 monitor features Natural Colour Expert software which allows users to calibrate the monitor’s colour profile to fit their specific colour requirements.
