Serif Announces Digital Photography Competition

Do you have what it takes to capture a great photo and edit it until it’s perfect? Photographers wanting to show off their skills are invited by Serif, the award-winning creative software developer, to enter the new PhotoPlus competition, which runs until 26th June 2011.

“We are calling photography enthusiasts across the world to submit photographs that they have improved using the extensive range of features in any version of our photo editing software, PhotoPlus,” says Gary Bates, Managing Director at Serif. “Whether you use the intuitive cut-out studio, makeover tools, artistic brushes or layers and masks, we want to see what you can achieve!”

Individuals entering the competition – sponsored by Jessops and Digital Photo magazine – will be in with a chance of winning over £1,800 worth of prizes including an HP laptop, a Sony Alpha A55 DSLR with an 18-55mm lens, the full suite of Serif software, a canvas print of their winning image and a year’s subscription to Digital Photo magazine. Plus, the winning and shortlisted photos will be showcased on serif.com and may be featured in future promotional materials. Runners up will receive a copy of PhotoPlus, plus every entrant will receive a £10 voucher to spend at serif.com.

To take part, simply visit www.serif.com/photoplus-competition and submit your finished image with a description of what you wanted to achieve and how you did it using PhotoPlus. Each entrant can submit up to six images and the categories for the competition are Black & White, Landscape, Portrait, Wildlife, Macro and Abstract. If you don’t have a copy of PhotoPlus, you can download the free starter edition.

Images will be displayed in an online gallery at serif.com and judged by the Serif PhotoPlus Team. Once a shortlist of category winners has been created, visitors to serif.com will then be invited to vote for the lucky grand prize winner throughout September 2011.
