Shutterfly Announces photo based social network

Shutterfly Share Sites help families and other close-knit groups easily create secure websites to share stories

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. (August 12, 2008) —Shutterfly, Inc. (NASDAQ:SFLY), the leading Internet-based social expression and personal publishing service, today announced Shutterfly Share Sites, a new service that combines the best of photo sites, blogs, and social networking in a way that allows customers to easily connect and collaborate with friends and family in a safe and secure environment.  Share Sites bring a new dimension to story-telling by creating a single destination to solve the challenges of “multiple camera, single event” photo occasions like family reunions, weddings and team sporting events.  Customers can create a free Shutterfly Share Site by visiting http://www.shutterfly.com/share

Also new today, Shutterfly adds the ability for customers to post and share their photo books on their personalized Share Sites.  Once a photo book has been added, Share Site members can preview the book, add comments and order their own copy.  If customers wish to create their own version of the book, a one-click process allows them to save it to their Shutterfly account and edit accordingly.

How it works:
Within minutes, customers can create a professional-looking website by logging into their Shutterfly account and following the self-guided three step process.

1.    Select Share Site style - Shutterfly further simplifies the creation process by providing pre-determined templates, backgrounds and styles, organized across eight categories – including family, baby, wedding and kids’ sports.
2.                    Name your Share Site - After choosing the style of the site, users will be prompted to select a name for their Share Site and will receive a personalized URL (e.g. marshallfamily.shutterfly.com).
3.                    Customize your features - Site owners can add features such as calendars, weather information and polls, as well as set site privacy permissions before inviting friends and family to become site members.

When visiting the Share Site, members can add photos, share photo books, write journal entries and post comments.  Even better, in just a few clicks, members can make a variety of photo books, cards, calendars and other photo merchandise using the photos from their Share Site.  Also, Share Site owners receive a dedicated email address for their site, (e.g. [email protected]), where members can email comments and photos that are posted directly to their Share Site.

Shutterfly customers have created more than 55,000 individual Share Sites since the Company opened its beta test earlier this summer.

Shutterfly customers can create up to ten Share Sites.  For more information, please visit http://www.shutterfly.com/share.
