Sinar Press Release
Sinar is proud to announce the revolutionary Sinar arTec camera system which is specifically designed for the demands of professional photographers in the field of digital architectural photography. The new Sinar arTec camera system stands in the 60 year-long Sinar tradition of developing and providing innovative tools, designed by photographers and engineered for photographers.
This unique new camera system has been developed in close cooperation with the renowned architectural photographer Rainer Viertlböck. The result of this cooperation is an exciting and uncompromising camera system for professionals, offering maximum freedom in image composition with all displacements from close range to infinity.
The Sinar arTec Camera System At A Glance
With the new Sinar arTec camera system, images can precisely be composed on the bright focusing screen of the camera’s sliding back. Its built-in sliding back allows for conveniently switching from viewing to capturing without the risks of unintendedly changing the settings previously made or exposing the imaging sensor of the digital camera back to dust and physical damage.
Digital camera backs from Sinar and Leaf with Sinar Hy6/Leaf AFi interface can be attached to the Sinar arTec camera. The combination of Sinar’s unique revolving adapter and Sinar digital backs allows for changing the image orientation from landscape to portrait and vice versa without removing the Sinarback from the camera, hence granting convenient, safe, and dust-free operation.
The high-precision displacement drives of the Sinar arTec are ergonomically placed on the camera body and can be locked in position to prevent unintended movements. For intuitive operation of the camera, the zero-positions of all displacements are equipped with click-stops. Furthermore, all displacements are equipped with scales in millimeters or degrees.
The Sinar arTec camera body is equipped with spirit-levels for all axis to facilitate leveling the camera. Once the camera has been leveled it can be turned into position without loosing level thanks to its built-in 360 degree rotating mount.
Like any other Sinar camera, the new Sinar arTec is a reliable and rugged tool, yet light in weight, and built with Swiss precision for the heavy demands of daily professional use. Therefore and thanks to its compact size it is also well-suited for other applications such as landscape and industrial photography.
The new Sinar arTec camera system includes a broad range of the well-proven Sinaron Digital and Sinaron Digital HR lenses which offer the resolving power required for high-end digital photography combined with minimal distortion and chromatic aberration. All lenses for the Sinar arTec camera system are equipped with high-precision focusing mounts and a depth-of-field scale.
In combination with the high-end Sinarback digital camera backs and the well-received Sinar eXposureTM software the new Sinar arTec camera system offers maximum ease of use and flexibility combined with an image quality never achieved before.
Rainer Viertlböck On The New Sinar arTec Camera System
“Of course, if you are a good photographer you can make good images with the cameras that already existed. If you are a great photographer you’ll make great images with all of them. But I wanted something smoother, something more intuitive, something more 4x5”-like. To my own surprise, Sinar listened to me. That’s all. Here is the camera.”
