Highest data transfer of the range!

Sony Europe’s Recording Media & Energy (RME) division today announced the launch of its first Sony Memory Stick PRO-HG product line-up, to be available to consumers in August 2007. The “Memory Stick PRO-HG” is an extended format of the “Memory Stick PRO” format, offering high performances to meet the stringent demands of end users using digital entertainment equipments.

Memory Stick PRO-HG media come in ‘Duo’ size1 and will be available in 1GB, 2GB and 4GB capacities. Offering 30MB/s Read/Write speed (240Mbps)2, it allows large amount of data to be quickly transferred, as well as the real-time recording of high-resolution video and still images. The Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo is ideal for Digital SLR, high-end digital camera, or digital video camera users who need to handle large capacity data. Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo media are fully backward compatible with Memory Stick PRO host devices, and will also allow the user to achieve Read/Write speeds of 13MB/s (104Mbps)3 with conventional Memory Stick PRO compatible devices.

Along with the Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo range launch, the Memory Stick accessory line-up will be extended with the launch of the Memory Stick Duo ExpressCard adaptor MSAC-EX1 which maximises speed performance of the Memory Stick PRO-HG Duo media and is compatible with any notebook which includes an ExpressCard slot.

The Memory Stick PRO-HG media, when used with the MSAC-EX1 adaptor and a PC equipped with an ExpressCard slot, realises high-speed data transfer of 30MB/s (240Mbps) under certain measurement conditions2. This allows one hour video taken by a Memory Stick HD Handycam in SP mode to be transferred to PC in approximately two minutes.

Sony continues to provide Memory Stick media for high-speed data transfer of large-capacity video or other contents, and proposes users more comfortable AV mobile life.
