This weekend saw the first of five ultraviolet art murals appear across London as part of a collaboration between Sony Mobile and a series of street artists to bring to life the low-light photography capabilities of its Xperia Z3 smartphone. The project was kicked off by artist Dan Kitchener, well-known for his modern impressionistic street scenes at night. His mural adorns the Hat and Feathers Pub at 2 Clerkenwell Road and has already sparked considerable conversation on social media. The next seven weeks will see five artists in total take to the streets of the capital and create murals around the theme of ‘I Can See in the Dark’ which aligns with Sony’s latest ‘I Can’ advertising campaign. The second mural, created by artist Zina, will be live from 20th July on the Great Eastern Bear Gallery in Shoreditch.

SONY BRIGHTENS UP LONDON’S STREETS WITH LOW LIGHT ART MURALS

Renowned artist Dan Kitchener kicks off night time street scenes

14th July, 2015, London – This weekend saw the first of five ultra violet art murals appear across London as part of a collaboration between Sony Mobile and a series of street artists including Dan Kitchener, to bring to life the low light photography capabilities of its Xperia Z3 smartphone.

Thanks to the superiority of the Xperia Z3, and its ability to capture crisp images in low light situations, Sony has teamed up with a series artists including, Zina, Oliver Switch and Replete to create a collection of exclusive works that come alive at night.  Brought to life by ultra violet lights, the murals offer passers-by a unique street-art experience in the dark.

The project was kicked off by artist Dan Kitchener, well-known for his modern impressionistic street scenes at night.  The perfect recruit to highlight Sony’s low light photography feature, Kitchener’s mural adorns the Hat and Feathers Pub at 2 Clerkenwell Road and has already sparked considerable conversation on social media.
