Photographer Linda Köhler-Sandring set the Bounce-wall Speed Shooting record on Saturday, 27 May 2017: in only 7.092 seconds, the she shot 888 professional outdoor portraits in Zingst, Germany. With the help of an assistant and the right Sunbounce equipment, Linda Köhler-Sandring achieved what no one else has done before: Using the "mobile portrait studio,” consisting of a Bounce-Wall and a Mini Sun-Bouncer Black-hole as a neutral background, she took successive pictures of Zingsters and visitors in just a few minutes. The Berlin-based photographer was delighted with her success: "The Sunbounce Speed Shooting was a significant event for all of us! We didn’t know if we could really do it. It was quite a feat for the whole team. All the more reason we are happy to have sent home beautiful portraits with so many people.”

SPEED SHOOTING: SUNBOUNCE SETS A WORLD RECORD

888 Professional Portraits in 7.092 seconds

Zingst, Germany. May 29, 2017. The photographer Linda Köhler-Sandring set the BOUNCE-WALL SPEED SHOOTING RECORD on Saturday, May 27, 2017: In only 7.092 seconds, the photographer from Berlin shot 888 professional portraits outdoor in beautiful weather at the pier in Zingst, Germany. In 78 % of the pictures taken, Linda Köhler-Sandring only pressed the shutter button once. Wolfgang-Peter Geller, owner and CEO of SUNBOUNCE, is excited about the record: “We were able to prove that the combination of photography skills and the right equipment can produce professional portraits – regardless of the weather and lighting conditions – in no time at all.”

With the help of an assistant and the right SUNBOUNCE equipment, Linda Köhler-Sandring achieved what no one else has done before: Using the "mobile portrait studio,” consisting of a BOUNCE-WALL and a MINI SUN-BOUNCER BLACK-HOLE as a neutral background, she took successive pictures of Zingsters and visitors to the pier in just a few minutes. And the results are impressive: Even a little breeze could not prevent her from producing perfectly illuminated, professional portrait photos in studio light quality. The photographer from Berlin was delighted with her success: "The SUNBOUNCE SPEED-SHOOTING was a significant event for all of us! We didn’t know if we could really do it. It was quite a feat for the whole team. All the more reason we are happy to have sent home beautiful portraits with so many people.”

At a thank-you, each participant received his or her portrait on “spectra-jet” photo paper. “I am sure that such a record can’t be broken again any time soon! Setting the BOUNCE-WALL SPEED-SHOOTING record was a huge challenge and great achievement for Linda. The horizonte environmental photo festival in Zingst provided the ideal setting,” explains Wolfgang-Peter Geller. “We are already thinking about what we can do next year. I am open to suggestions for other records with SUNBOUNCE products!”

The idea for the SUNBOUNCE SPEED-SHOOTING was formed last year:

Linda Köhler-Sandring takes pictures at lots of weddings. And the guests really like it when they can each take home a nice portrait of themselves. But that is virtually impossible at an event with hundreds of guests and without proper illumination and backgrounds. Since the Berlin photographer is familiar with the SUNBOUNCE products, we collaborated and came up with a simple solution using the BOUNCE-WALL. SUNBOUNCE accompanied Linda to an outdoor shooting and documented how she used the “mobile portrait studio” to take pictures of 88 guests in exactly 9 minutes and 16 seconds. Each guest was photographed in the same style, with the same lighting. “I took only one or two pictures of most of the people. After years of experience, I usually know whether or not the picture is right. All of the editing took me less than five minutes,” she explains. And that takes into consideration that she always has to be prepared to take good pictures in any weather. Thanks to the BOUNCE-WALL and, for the first time, a SUN-MOVER, none of the guests had to move to a separate portrait corner, which kept the mood light and festive.

THE SUNBOUNCE SPEED-SHOOTING TOOL: THE MAGICAL BOUNCE-WALL

The BOUNCE-WALL is a mobile flash reflector. It consists of a DIN A4-size lightweight plastic plate secured to a bracket and positioned slightly to the side and slightly above the person’s face. The light is reflected from the perfect direction onto the subject’s face. It is just big enough to create the ideal portrait lighting, but it is 15 to 20 times bigger than a normal flash. All of the TTL functions remain intact, the flash stays where it always is, and all of the electrical contacts on the flash base can be used. The flash’s weight always remains on the camera’s axis, above the lens, so the camera and BOUNCE-WALL are stable. The magical BOUNCE-WALL offers animated, professional studio lighting with any detachable flash. Following the 45/45 degree rule, about 45° of the light from the BOUNCE-WALL comes from the side and about 45° from above. The photographer decides whether it should come from the left or right, and whether from farther to the front or the back.
