The Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers (SWPP) have announced the winners of the "Faces" Photographic Competition. Olga Kuznyetsova from Kiev, Ukraine was chosen as the winner from over 700 images entered in to the competition, with the image entitled ‘Smoking Man” (above). Phil Jones, The Societies CEO says, “Its an imaginative and intriguing image which has been well captured, pleasingly lit and the smoke gives it atmosphere.” The photo was taken on a Canon EOS 7D and 50mm f1.4 lens.

Faces Photography Competition Winners Announced

The Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers have announced the winners of the Faces Photographic Competition.

For this competition photographers were asked to concentrate on the human face. We encouraged entrants to submit images which show expression: happiness, sadness, fear, anger, seduction, surprise etc

Olga Kuznyetsova from Kiev, Ukraine was chosen as the winner from over 700 images entered in to the competition, with the image entitled ‘Smoking Man”.

Olga explains "Photo was made by Canon EOS 7D with lens 50mm f1.4 in my home studio in Kiev, Ukraine, using 2 studio lights - soft box and white umbrella."

Olga has won 12 months membership to The Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers (SWPP). Phil Jones, The Societies CEO says, “Its an imaginative and intriguing image which has been well captured, pleasingly lit and the smoke gives it atmosphere.”

He continues, “The competition had a very high standard which made judging very difficult, the range of entries was very broad and we have seen everything from happy to sad and everything in between. We enjoy viewing all the images entered and we are looking forward to another bumper crop of images entered in to or next competition entitled ‘Under 5’s”.

The runners up Michalis Taliadoros from Paphos and Chinmoy Biswas from the Kolkata have both been awarded 6 months membership to the SWPP photographic organisation.
