13 June 2008
The sun is starting to set on this year’s ‘Take-a-View’ Landscape Photographer of the Year Awards – with just a few weeks left to enter.
This year’s competition offers an impressive total prize fund of £20,000, including £10,000 cash for the overall winner.
Now in its second year, entrants have until 12 July 2008 to submit their photographs of the British landscape at www.take-a-view.co.uk
Following on from the success of the 2007 exhibition of commended and winning images, this year’s exhibition will again be held over an eight-week period at the National Theatre on London’s South Bank. The exhibition is expected to attract over 80,000 visitors during the eight-week period and runs from 17th November 2008.
A book will also be published featuring the 2008 winning entries, which will be launched at the exhibition. The competition is fast becoming an event that reflects the heart and spirit of Britain and attracts entries of the very highest standard.
Charlie Waite, one of Britain’s best-loved landscape photographers, says of ‘Take a view’: “The first year of the Awards exceeded all expectations. The standard of the work was amazing and the exhibition was a great success. The emails that we receive really show that the landscape is something with which we all identify and get great pleasure from. I am very pleased that my aim, to involve as many people as possible in making images that symbolise our land and our times, has been met in the most positive way. I can’t wait to see this year’s entries.”
All entries must be uploaded via the competition website, www.take-a-view.co.uk and the closing date is 12th July 2008. Full terms and conditions can be found on the site.
