Epson® prints winning images for Landscape Photographer of the Year 2008

As a proud sponsor of the Take a View - Landscape Photographer of the Year 2008 competition, Epson teams up with Bayeux to print the winners’ exhibition displays using the new Epson Stylus Pro 9900 large format printer.

27th October 2008: Now in its second year, the UK’s prestigious Take a View competition challenged photographers to capture the diversity and beauty of the British landscape, with categories for urban, rural and conceptual landscapes. Attracting thousands of entries of the highest standard from around the world, the competition was judged by a panel of renowned photography experts, headed up by leading landscape photographer Charlie Waite.

The finalists’ works will premier in a free exhibition at London’s National Theatre between 18 November 2008 and 17 January 2009, with over 100 stunning images on public view. As the exhibition co-sponsor, Epson is delighted to be teaming up with professional photo lab, Bayeux, to produce the exhibition display panels on Epson Premium Photographic Paper using the new Epson Stylus Pro 9900 Large Format Printer.

Utilising the latest Epson inkjet technology, the ground-breaking Stylus Pro 9900 is the ideal choice to reproduce the winning images in their full glory. The photographs’ true colours will be realised using the new Epson UltraChrome™ HDR (High Dynamic Range) ink, which adds orange and green ink to Epson’s UltraChrome™ K3 with Vivid Magenta to deliver the widest colour gamut available today. An outstanding level of detail will be assured with the Stylus Pro 9900’s 10-channel MicroPiezo TFP™ print head and Variable-sized Droplet Technology.

Acclaimed landscape photographer Charlie Waite, founder of Take a View, said, “Having seen the standard of this year’s entries first hand, I cannot wait to see the exhibition. The National Theatre is an amazing venue and the support we have received from Epson will help to ensure that the winning images are seen at their very best.”
