Tether Tools Introduces TetherBoost™ USB 3.0 Core Controller

February 10, 2015 (PHOENIX, AZ) - Tether Tools, photo industry leader in tethered photography solutions, is proud to announce the release of the TetherBoost™  Core Controller which provides consistent reliable power to boost and maintain a stable, dependable connection for tethered image transfer when using a DSLR or Medium Format Digital Back System connected to a computer via USB cables.

TetherBoost alleviates current frustrations among photographers experiencing dropped signals when shooting with USB 3.0. These issues are due to camera and computer manufacturers’ varying USB 3.0 firmware versions and the additional power required to transfer images via USB 3.0 vs USB 2.0. Many computer manufacturers under-power their USB ports to conserve power, which limits the cable length for optimal connectivity and image transfer.  These challenges are affecting USB 3.0 camera users, currently including Nikon, Canon, Phase One, Mamiya Leaf, and Pentax camera systems.   
    
TetherBoost eliminates these limitations allowing for tethering connections from 15 to 35 feet without any loss in signal. TetherBoost also features the TrueConnect LED panel which ensures signal connectivity for each of the controller’s four USB ports.

TetherBoost can be used on its own, without external power, with any 15 ft (4.6m) cable connection – or it can be powered with a wall adapter or external battery to achieve longer tethering distances. Adding one of the TetherBoost power options, even when tethering shorter distances, will conserve camera battery life.  TetherBoost is backward compatible with USB 2.0 connections and will benefit any USB tethered photo shoot by boosting the communication signal and conserving camera battery life.
