Canson® Infinity Papers Selected to Exclusively Showcase ‘The Photography of Curt Gunther’, featuring The Beatles 1964 First North American Tour Exhibit at The Morrison Hotel Gallery, New York

More than 45 years after the Beatles first invaded the U.S., snapshots of their historic 1964 tour by the late Curt Gunther have just arrived at New York’s Morrison Hotel Gallery. The candid photos capture the young Fab Four in intimate and lighthearted moments, just as Beatlemania was reaching its most fevered pitch.

Gunther was born in Berlin, Germany and came to the United States in the 1940’s to immediately begin his photography career. Gunther’s images have been seen in numerous publications throughout the world, and his work has left behind a powerful and significant legacy.

The Morrison Hotel Gallery (www.morrisonhotelgallery.com) which will show and sell The Photography of Curt Gunther, The Beatles First North American Tour, 1964 photos,  was founded in 2001 by three men: Peter Blachley ; a former record company executive and producer, Rich Horowitz ; a former independent record store owner, and Henry Diltz ; a legendary music photographer. The gallery has since grown to become a major brand in fine art music photography and is respected amongst peers and artists alike.

The limited-edition prints of the Beatles photos in this exhibit were printed exclusively on Canson Infinity papers. Canson recently was awarded the prestigious Technical Image Press Association (TIPA) for Best Fine Art Inkjet Paper 2010.

“We are honored that our paper was selected for these fine art prints, nearly fifty years after the photographs were first taken,” said Robert Toth, Vice President of Marketing of Canson.  “Curt Gunther’s photography is breath-taking and we are gratified to be a part of this exhibit at the Morrison Hotel Gallery.”

The Exhibit will be shown in the SoHo Gallery at 124 Prince Street, and run through the middle of July. Son, Stephen Gunther, is custodian of the Gunther archives.
