Tickets now on sale for Master Photography Awards Dinner & Presentations

The Master Photographers Association (MPA) has announced that tickets for its forthcoming Master Photography Awards 2011 are now on sale.

The Awards ceremony is to be held at the Gateshead Hilton in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne on Sunday 9 October. Tickets for this glittering event cost just £65 and include dinner, wine, entertainment and the chance to experience first hand the cream of the world’s best photography. The top accolade: ‘International Master Photographer of the Year’ will also be announced on the night.

Tickets for the event, plus hotel reservations at preferential rates, are available by booking online at the Awards website: www.masterphotographyawards.co.uk Places are limited and are on a first-come-first-served basis.

From over 2,500 submitted images, the final selections have now been made by the judging panel, chaired by Henk Van Kooten. The judges evaluated each entry and awarded points based on impact, composition, colour management and workmanship. Those achieving a Merit (80 points and over) have already been notified.

No-one will be notified prior to the event if they have won a major prize, so it will be a very exciting night!

The Awards are the most prestigious for photography in the UK, and are open to all qualified members of the Association, plus there were several categories open to non-members.

Says Colin Buck, MPA chief executive: “Our Awards ceremony has been unrivalled for many years and 2011 promises to be even better. Reports from our judges suggest that the standard of winning images has scaled new peaks so it looks like we’re all in for a great evening!”
