Rocky Nook has published a new collection by author Bruce Barnbaum - best known for his book, The Art of Photography -, titled Tone Poems, Book 1: Opuses 1, 2 & 3 and Tone Poems, Book 2: Opuses 4, 5 & 6. “The large-format books are a visual symphony with 181 superbly reproduced black-and-white nature photographs, from the abstract and often ethereal Dune Dome of Death Valley to the corporeal lyricism of the Caineville Buttes in Capitol Reef National Park,” the publisher says. “Each book is divided into sections that represent a different theme showcasing the magnificence of our glorious universe and offering a celebration of the natural world that is sure to elicit a visceral response.” Each book contains a CD with music recorded in Seattle’s Benaroya Hall by classical pianist Judith Cohen. The music was chosen to mirror and expand on the emotional content of the imagery in each of the two volumes. Sold separately, each book is available for $79.95.

Rocky Nook Announces New Tone Poems Collection by Bestselling Author and Photographer Bruce Barnbaum

Farnham, UK — Rocky Nook has published a new collection by author Bruce Barnbaum, titled Tone Poems, Book 1: Opuses 1, 2 & 3 and Tone Poems, Book 2: Opuses 4, 5 & 6. Barnbaum has authored several books, including the bestseller The Art of Photography, which is in its sixth printing.

The large-format books are a visual symphony with 181 superbly reproduced black-and-white nature photographs, from the abstract and often ethereal Dune Dome of Death Valley to the corporeal lyricism of the Caineville Buttes in Capitol Reef National Park. About the Author and the Musician

Bruce Barnbaum is a photographer, educator, and author of The Art of Photography: An Approach to Personal Expression; Plateaus and Canyons: Impressions of the American Southwest; and Visual Symphony: A Photographic Work in Four Movements. Barnbaum is recognized as one of the finest darkroom printers on this planet, both for his exceptional black-and-white work, as well as for his color imagery. His work is represented by more than ten galleries throughout the United States and Canada, and is in the collections of museums and private collectors worldwide.

Judith Cohen is an award-winning pianist and commercial recording artist. She is Artistic Director of the Governor’s Chamber Music Series in Washington, where she has served since 1989. Judith has performed chamber music concerts all over the world, and continues to perform throughout the country and the Pacific Northwest.
