In response to visitors’ demand, the Travel Photographer of the Year (TPOTY) exhibition at London’s Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) has been extended for a further two weeks. Now running until 2nd September, the exhibition features the winning images from the 2011 international Travel Photographer of the Year awards, with all the stories behind the pictures, along with historic images from the Royal Geographical Society’s archives and a series of special showcases. The exhibition is free to enter.

Exhibition extended for a further two weeks

The Travel Photographer of the Year exhibition at London’s Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) is proving hugely popular with visitors. And, in response to demand, the exhibition has been extended for a further two weeks, and will now run until Sunday 2nd September. In addition, from now until August 11th the exhibition will be open until 8pm every day, after which it will open from 9.30am-5pm Monday-Saturday and 10am-4pm on Sundays.

Featuring the winning images from the 2011 international Travel Photographer of the Year awards, with all the stories behind the pictures, along with historic images from the Royal Geographical Society’s archives and a series of special showcases, the free to view exhibition is drawing large numbers of visitors. And they are loving what they see, with thousands of photography lovers of all ages and from a wide range of countries enjoying the chance to view some of the best contemporary travel images around, set alongside fascinating archive shots.

Also proving popular is the TPOTY shop in the exhibition gallery, where visitors are snapping up a range of postcards, greetings cards and prints, together with copies of ‘Journey Four’, the new book from TPOTY, which features many of the images in the exhibition.
