Transcend announces the sponsorship of Philippe Jacquot in ALASKA 2007
Transcend Information Europe, leader in the production of flash memory products, is proud to make his sponsorship with wilderness photographer Philippe Jacquot official. In a few weeks Philippe Jacquot will embark on his ambitious project of “40 pictures in 40 days” in the expedition Alaska 2007, and Transcend CF 120X cards will go with him.
Born in France, Philippe Jacquot has developed his interest for photography from a very early age. Alaska has been one of his dreams since childhood and through the years it has grown into a clear and dedicated self-assigned photographic project. Philippe’s first aim is to challenge himself and his ability to look and appreciate what Nature offers, capture what he sees and witnesses in order to share it: “The intent of my work is to show that there is beauty all around us in simple and essential things” (Philippe Jacquot).
The expedition Alaska 2007 will take place from the 16th June till the 29th July and the challenge is “40 pictures in 40 days”, and make it into a book. Two friends will join and support Philippe for the realization of his project: Elyzann Carlier who will go with him as his assistant and Frans Imbert-Vier who will participate as the video-film maker. The journey will take off from Denali National Park near Wonder Lake and Mount McKinley in Central Alaska for the mesmerizing surroundings and mixed sunrises and sunsets; Philippe will then visit Hallo Bay looking for breathtaking shots of grizzly bears; he will plunge into total wilderness in Kachemak Bay State Park near Homer and canoe away from civilization along the Kanaï Canoe Trail System to end going Southwest to Haines and hopefully Juneau.
Alaska 2007 will be a true communion with nature to recover a fresh and clean eye and awaken inspiration. Philippe and crew will be mainly challenged by the weather conditions that at this time of the year can be disastrous, and the environment that on occasion can be hostile for people, especially with photographic gear. Reliable and high performance equipment is a must. Transcend’s 4GB and 8GB 120X Ultra Performance CF Cards achieve extraordinary average read/write speeds of up to 20/18MB per second using the latest Ultra DMA technology. With these amazing read/write speeds and their huge capacity, users are guaranteed to get the very best performance and results from their high-end digital equipment. “I scarcely talk about equipment, but equipment can be responsible for a poor image. Even what seems to be the least significant component is worth your attention, and should be the best. If I use Transcends cards, it is due to their irreproachable reliability and sensibility and that is why I can forget to talk about equipment” (Philippe Jacquot).
